Over that time, I felt it was time to refresh the site and to open up the other things I do as well as Equestrian events, so you will see a page all about wedding photography that I love and enjoy capturing for the past 16 years.  And to come will be more information about my other event and commercial works.  You'll notice that each event group / establishment has a unique page design / colour style.

I have been missing the equestrian world and I have shot nothing of events from end of November when it was at the fantastic facility of Sheepgate Equestrian.  So over the months of lack of activity, I have been taking a lot of time at looking back at the past events and the amazing times and adventures.  So more past works will come onto the site overtime and will announce them through the blog.

First official event I shall be photographing at will be 16th May with Bagmoor.  I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone again after so long!

The New Special Code, What events have returned and announcement of Printing on Site services https://www.davidnevephotography.co.uk/blog/2018/12/the-new-code-and-announcement-of-printing-on-site-services Today, the new code is available and also some previous events have made a huge comeback and also news of my printing on site services.

The New Code: WELLDONE! . Starting from 1st December > Ends 31st December inclusive

The new code: WELLDONE! is now active and has replaced all the other codes in use before 1st December 2018.

So what does this new code do that the others do / do not some may ask.

So it is exactly the same as the other codes which is: 25% off orders that total £27.00 or more before Post & Packaging but with extra benefits:

  • You can Mix and Match different events.  E.g. You can order pictures from Oakridge and Wragby Show together for example.  The combination of events together is unlimited.
  • You can order from any event, any month and any year.  E.g. You can order say Bagmoor in September this year, and order Bagmoor from 10 years ago and also Oakridge 5 years ago for example.
  • There is no fixed products or items you have to order to get the discount, just like the normal offers.
  • It includes Weddings and Private commissions / events also.

The offer runs until and including 31st December 2018.

So from some of you have asked what this is all about, especially recently at Sheepgate, well it is something significant which happened elsewhere that was really helped by the drive and admiration of the riders, visitors and event organisers of my work so this is a special thank you for the achievement I had received recently.  All will be unveiled on Wednesday!

Events that have returned

From a post a few days ago, I had mentioned that an event has made a return debut back to the website!

The Event that has come back onto the website is:

Scunthorpe & District Branch Pony Club's Autumn Hunter Trial 2013 - 1st September 2013! Click on the highlighted area to see the work that opens up in a separate tab / window.  This event is included in the special WELLDONE! offer as explained above.

News of Printing on Site service

For many of you will have seen myself and my team around over the years at lots of various events offering printing on site from Cross Country through to Show Jumping and also some of the special events like Dinner Balls etc.  Things have certainly been hectic and the way that things have changed etc has been phenomenal.  However, recently many things have changed and it has started to take up more of my time and I had to make a decision about continue to print on site.  It has been a tough decision but due to the way work life is going and the running costs of doing so is so high, I have decided to cease printing on site for good.  Therefore, the final date that I can take on bookings for doing printing on site work which I need two weeks notice will be 20th December 2018 for events that run by 31st January 2019.

My family who have been helping me with running the equipment and background work with the tent and just keeping things ticking over would like to wish everyone all the best and it has been a pleasure for them to serve and see you all and they hope to see you at various other events in the future.

Finally, some important dates for December as we enter the closing stages of 2018:

Event Dates:

13th December 2018 : Oakridge Dressage

15th December 2018 : Oakridge Dressage

Updates and Important Christmas and New Year Cut off dates 2018 https://www.davidnevephotography.co.uk/blog/2018/11/updates-and-important-christmas-and-new-year-cut-off-dates Apologies it has been quiet on my blogging front for a start, it has been quite hectic in the background with other things.

The recent events have been quite a fun adventure especially with SDBPC's Bagmoor Hunter trials!  They held a special extension last month in October of a hunter trial due to March and April's unusual weather conditions with heavy snow and storms.  Everyone rode wonderfully and the events looked have been a success with the amount of riders there have been passing my camera.

There are some important things that I need at announce and they are the cut-off dates for Christmas and New Year 2018.

Order Cut Off Dates and Closure -Reopening

Here are the important dates you need to know for certain items, requests and orders before Christmas:

9th December 2018 - Photo Books

14th December 2018 - Cards, Postcards, Invitations, Bragging Books

14th December 2018 - Inkjet, 2", 3" Canvas Wraps & Canvas Wrap Round

14th December 2018 - Prints, Fine Art Prints, Collages (2-3 business days)

Orders placed after the above dates will not be guaranteed to arrive for Christmas.

NO TIME CONSTRAINT - Digital downloads and digital packages as these are instant downloads.  Please also remember or if not known is that when you have purchased your download/s, the system allows you 30 days from purchase to download the image/s.

Business will close for 2018 at 3pm on 20th December 2018.

Business will fully reopen on 7th January 2019.

The website store will remain open for orders throughout the Festive and New Year period, but enquiries and requests will be limited or not able to respond until 7th January 2019.  Orders placed during this period of physical products will be processed and delivered after the New Year.

There is still a special offer on Bagmoor's October event which is 25% off orders of £27.00 or more before Post and Packaging with the code: BAG25.  The offer ends on 28th November 2018.

So far my next events are:

15th & 16th November - Oakridge Dressage - Affiliated and Unaffiliated

24th November 2018 - Sheepgate Dressage - Final event of 2018.

13th December 2018 - Oakridge Dressage

My final event of 2018: 15th December 2018 - Oakridge Unaffiliated Dressage. - Final Event of 2018.

There is possibly something to come that could call an end to one part of my service that I offer.  Will announce if it happens.

I want to wish everyone the very best of luck with the final upcoming events before Christmas and happy riding!

Kenwick Dressage, News, changes and upcoming Important matters with May https://www.davidnevephotography.co.uk/blog/2018/4/kenwick-dressage-news-changes-and-upcoming-important-matters-with-may What a month March was with the pure power of true winter's snow ploughing through the month with "The Beast from the East" as it was known!  The weather, not just brought chaos to travel and daily chores etc, but it has also brought a mass of event cancellations too.  Many equestrian events were cancelled over the month (I had three shows cancelled due to snow) showing how strong the snow weather had been.  And now in April, we are going from snow to rain conditions affecting everything.  We are in for quite an adventure I feel and finally there are going to be quite a few things happening over the next few weeks on my side of things also.

So, in this blog post:

  • Kenwick Dressage - The closure
  • Interesting changes and Integrations
  • Important notices of what is coming

Kenwick Dressage - The Closure - 31st March 2018

I will never ever forget doing the first ever Kenwick Dressage show back on 30th November 2013 and I had met the wonderful Allison and her beautiful daughter Beth and her fantastic husband Chris.  After that day and meeting, it truly was the beginning of not just great event and organisers to work with, but also of great friendship for life and collaborations.

The shows were full of laughter and happiness and also for everyone who visited and participated, it was a show that really gave encouragement to all riders of all abilities and everyone helped each other.  It was a truly positive world in the atmosphere that they (Allison and Beth and their team) had created and energised come rain or shine.

And then after 5 years of came this year's Easter Show, which is to be (sadly) their last.  The day was sweet and magical, even though the air and feelings was of sadness which was felt through every image I took, knowing that they were to be the last of this beautiful group's show.  Every time I clicked the shutter, I kept on having flashbacks of the past 5 years of Kenwick Dressage.  The times I got cold, the times I got dancing, and the one time when I got asked to do a very special job... To help judge dressage!  I'm very well known for my photography judging and I have judged a fancy dress before, but I have never ever judged a dressage!  I was stirring in my mind thinking what do they look at, what do they comment on, what do they knock points off on and what do they reward points on?????!!! It was a whole new ball game!  Luckilly for me, I was in great company with showing expert David Dunham, fantastic riding expert Sarah Charnley and also another outstanding rider and teacher of dressage and riding legend Alice Elliott.  It was a remarkable experience and my advice was going on what I look for in a photograph from structure and position to muscle positions of horse's stride etc.  When I photographed the very last shot of not just the day, but of the whole show, I felt like breaking down for everyone knowing the door had closed on an era.  The impact that the shows have done for the local people is certainly ones that will be remembered throughout the lifetime of everyone.  The boost of confidence, the ability to build confidence safely.

31st March 2018 - Beth and AllisonBeth and AllisonBeth and Allison receiving special gifts from everyone at Kenwick who had the pleasure to participate in the events over the years.

I cannot personally stress out that we need to keep on supporting our local shows, not just for somewere to go locally, but they are also vital building blocks for the riders / participants to advance onto higher levels and in Lincolnshire, we have a lot of very high level riders that are inspiring many of the locals and gives everyone a chance to build up their experience from their guidance and experience also.  And also the shows provide a fantastic world to relax and let off some steam too as well as to collect tickets / points to enter the bigger national competitions also without having to travel far afield and on a lot higher cost which is sadly been going up for a while.  I can also share the organiser's of the great shows time and preparation efforts which is the same in the photography world too where it can often lead to sleepless nights and long pre-show preparing to make sure everything runs ok.  I certainly hope we keep on trying to support what shows we have around us for the respect of their time and effort they put in to run the show for the people, even if it is just once a year.  That is my view on it anyway.

Like Beth had said, as one door closes, another opens... So we will definitely see the fantastic Mum & Daughter duo and the team again in the future very soon at other events!  I want to wish them all the best with their next chapters and adventures and for their love and support of my work, I shall always support the both of them with everything.

Finally, there will always be a Kenwick Dressage Page on my website.  As you know, every event group will have a web page of event images and Kenwick Dressage has one which can be found in the drop down list of Equestrian Events.  To celebrate the show's success over the years, my special offer of 25% off orders of £27.00 or more before Post and Packaging is on until the 5th May 2018 with the code: KENWICK25 on the checkout page and not just that, it applies to ALL KENWICK DRESSAGE EVENTS currently on the website.

Interesting changes and Integrations

As some of you may have seen recently on the official facebook page, the page name has slightly changed... It now includes events beyond the equine world.

The events includes Black tie type balls, celebrations, special events, other sport events etc.  Most recently however, I have been working on a special project of which until now has been kept close to my other works away from equestrian and other events and due to the project it has started to encroach into my events world of photography and so it was one of the reasons to change the page name slightly to reflect this.  The project is called Batqua Man.  The project is following a man who has various special needs requirements and has unusual health complications that he has been battling with over his life and only over a year ago had decided to swim in serious competitions and at last year's special olympics, has overcome the difficulties he faces and has won gold medals for his swimming in the special olympics.  The swimmer, Ben, describes himself as his big idol Batman for the feeling of having no weaknesses.  I have known Ben and his family for a very long time and you may well recognise them from the equestrian world.  You will soon see some posts about this project which is very special to myself too for which I also share some of his conditions also.  Ben to me is a real true Batman character fro what he has been and still is fighting against.

And finally...

Important notices of what is coming

In May, there is a lot happening over the month and also June / July.  But this section is about May first.  Will explain more about June and July around Mid - End of May post.

So with May, I shall be working away a lot and be very up and down the country at times (literally)! and so there will be times where I won't be reachable or may take a while to respond.  However, the online shop and orders are not affected at all by the dates in question, even certain collages as they can be designed by the viewer on the website.  Only specialist requirements are not processed or sorted until my return.  So here are the dates and information to know when special requests are on hold:

27th April - Any special requirements of certain styles of collages etc must be in by no later than 3pm please.

29th April - Scunthorpe Pony Club's Spring Hunter trial - The last event before travelling away.

1st > 15th May - Period where I may struggle to keep in touch if you need to reach me.  If I can reach and get in touch ok, will post an update on my Facebook page and here too.

16th May - Away at a special equestrian event.

17th May - Resumes any special requests from 12pm.

20th May - Welsh horse show at Sheepgate - First official show from returning back from travelling.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and will post again on my facebook page nearer the end of the month.

Unaffiliated Championship Sheepgate Adventures https://www.davidnevephotography.co.uk/blog/2017/9/sheepgate-bagmoor-adventures Sheepgate 9th & 10th September 2017

Sheepgate had once again run a fantastic Unaffiliated dressage Championship weekend which was a great time with photography also.  Sone fantastic dressage and riding were on show and the effort that all the riders have put in over the year really shows.  The weather was really playing see-saw with us all from one extreme to another!  From Bright Sunshine to heavy showers, it didn't put anyone off which is great! It was wonderful to see everyone do so well and very proud to continue to support the riders where ever I can.

Also special congratulations to not just the riders, but to also Sheepgate themselves for 20 years!  I was wondering for a while on Saturday thinking that there were little bits here and there and thought it was all because of the championships and was really surprised to find out that it is the venue itself so sheers from all here too for 20 years! Even though I have been coming and photographing the unaffiliated events since 2015, I feel super proud of them for what they have done and achieved both with events and their own stories and adventures!  I even managed to use some of my creativity with one of the balloons too with being artistic...

My next event at Sheepgate that I shall be at is 28th October 2017.

You can see all the images of the 9th & 10th September's Unaffilaited championship images by clicking here (Opens in a new tab / window).

You can find out more details about Sheppgate and see their next schedules etc on their website: sheepgate.co.uk (opens in a new tab / window).  Please note that there is a special offer of 25% off orders if spending £27.00 or more in total before Post & Packaging with the code: SHEEP25 at the checkout stage.  The offer is on until 5th October 2017.

My First Post & What's New https://www.davidnevephotography.co.uk/blog/2017/9/my-first-post-whats-new And here we go my first ever blog post!

After quite a long time going through thoughts and ideas and especially as the previous update has been the same for a very long time, it was time to bring everything more up to date and with a host of brand new things you can order which shows more than just prints and downloads.  So what is new on the site.  Well, to start off with you can now order:

  • Framed prints
  • Albums
  • Keyrings
  • Design your own collages
  • Books
  • Greetings cards - either singular or in sets
  • And more

Also eventually there will be more to come of different products so do keep an eye out in the future.

Also, the handling features for the viewer is made easier too where you can now and is highly recommended to create an account on the website so that you can:

  • Save your favourite images to view later and build a collection.
  • Make it easier to let me know of any you would like me to help you with.
  • Keep more informed when certain events are available.

With regards to finding any events / galleries, the search system is more direct where you just ype in for example sheepgate and all of sheepgate events will come up, you can even just either type in your name, Horse name, number or even your pet's name even a name of your dog if he/she was lucky enough to get photographed.  If you would like the latter to happen and to try and make it easier for you, please get in touch and create an account to make managing the search results easier with the save favourite images feature. Once in place, I shall make sure the images are searchable with a particular search term unique to you in the future.

There has also been a demand for riders and event organisers to have some exposure in various places etc.  Especially local riders as my main core is always to try and support local riders and events as I strongly feel that there are fantastic talent and inspirations that deserve to get more noticed and to improve confidence in riders of both English and Western disciplines.  So this blog will be used by me to talk about my adventures at various events that I am the official photographer of and other equine related adventures and other stories related to my work.  There are opportunities for riders, event organisers, and selected local businesses to get more exposure including any special collaborations for little projects.  This blog is also for if you have any success stories you want to share also.  So if you have a link to your site, facebook page, twitter etc you would like me to link to in blog posts etc, please do get in touch either by contacts page on this website, my facebook page - David Neve Equestrian Photography or David Neve Wedding Photography, Twitter: @David_Neve or e-mail: david@davidnevephotography.co.uk.  With the blog, you may also get the occasional posts from my other site where you will find the other side of my photography life outside of Equine and weddings at www.davidneve.com (Link will open in a new window) where you will see my Landscape, travel and creative art works.  This is again to keep everyone updated and the special offers I occasionally bring out is directly due to exciting things that have happened on that site also.

Hope this helps!  It feels like a new chapter has occurred but I'm very excited with this new set up and I hope you are too!  If you have any queries, please do get in touch & have fun!
